The Catholic Church holds the Bible as the sacred and divine Word of God.  It is the authority on which Catholic teachings and practices are based.  The Bible Ministry’s mission is to keep the Bible in focus.  Its objectives are to:

• Encourage parishioners to read the Bible regularly.
• Promote reverence for the Word of God when it is being proclaimed.
• Provide scriptural reference for the practices and observances of the faith.
• Facilitate Bible Study that fosters understanding, by placing the text in its historical, cultural, literary and religious context.
