Stewardship
Building up the Kingdom of Jesus Christ
“I have called you back from the ends of the earth so that you can Serve me.
I have chosen you, not rejected you, Do not be afraid, for I am with you Stop being anxious and watchful for I am your God, I will give you strength, I bring you help I uphold you with my victorious right hand” Isaiah 41. |
The Strong Foundation
The “Stewardship” effort at Our Lady of the Rosary over the years has been quietly consistent in many areas with giving of time, energy and talent which is tied to biblical directives. There is of course so much more that can be expanded on, enhanced and cultivated to increase these efforts and to draw deeper from the well of immense human resources within the growing community at the family church in the countryside of St. John. Stewardship Sundays The introduction of “Stewardship Sundays” brought about a sensitization and awareness for serving. An impact has been made with guest speakers from the parish talking about their personal walk and their commitment to be Christ centered rather than self centered and to share their time, talent and treasure. This proved to be an amazing way to touch lives by the witness of others, it allowed the parishioners to discern and reflect on how they too can commit to their parish. Stewardship Sundays will continue with monthly guest speakers until the end of the year, thereafter a quarterly plan will be implemented. |
Preparation
The process of developing a detailed plan for Stewardship in the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary started in late 2012. An action plan was required and the first stepping stones laid for its implementation were made in December 2012. Ministry Leads came forward and a new Parish Council was formed. Members of The Parish Council attended “Think Tank” sessions and relayed information to the various Ministry Leads. The Parish council includes the Leads of each Ministry.
With God's grace and the holy spirit leading the way, it is the intention of the Stewardship Ministry to highlight to parishioners how the biblical, spiritual and human ties to Stewardship all connect with our individual unique Christian vocations. Giving back a portion of our gifts and talents to church and community.
The Stewardship ministry at Our Lady of the Rosary is to promote Stewardship as a part of a life journey, by discerning our gifts and strengthening our commitment to spread the good news of Christ through our participation and stewardship.
