"The Catholic Rosary Mysteries are the prayers of the Gospel. The Gospels are the four books of the Bible that tell of Jesus' life from His Incarnation to His Ascension.
The mysteries of the Holy Rosary are the soul of the rosary prayer and are organized a specific way. Each set of mysteries contain five decades. They have been organized into different sentiments like joy and sorrow and are usually arranged in chronological order of how events unfolded the life of Jesus. The Joyful Mysteries (Mon, Sat): Tells the joys of Jesus and Mary, events that include the visitation and the nativity
The Luminous Mysteries (Thu): Casts the light of truth on the public life of Jesus including His baptism in the River Jordan and His transfiguration on Mount Tabor
The Sorrowful Mysteries (Tue, Fri): Commemorates the sorrows of Jesus and Mary, His passion and death on the cross.
The Glorious Mysteries (Sun, Wed): Recounts the glories Jesus shared with Mary, which includes His glorious Resurrection and Ascension into heaven
