Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Lent, we are told, is a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving/charity. As we enter into the season, the Church tells us in the Gospel, “filled with the Holy Spirit Jesus was led into the desert to by tempted...” So, as we begin this season that prepares us to journey with Jesus in our own desert to celebrate the victory of Jesus over death, let’s like him concentrate on God. Let’s address any temptation that we encounter by focusing on the word of God and commit to worship and serve him and him alone.
So, as we pray, let our prayers not be solely on corporal and social needs but more so on our relationship with our God. As we fast, may it be to bring ourselves to worship God and serve him alone. And when we give alms/charity may it be because we love.
Yes, let this Lent be one in which we worship God and God alone.
May God Bless you.

Parish Priest.
