“BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN AND YET BELIEVE.”
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
We are among the “blessed” that Jesus speaks about in the Gospel. We have not seen the risen Lord as the disciples did and yet we believe. Yes, we believe that Jesus suffered died and was buried and on the third day he rose again. That itself merits us among those who are blessed.
What does that mean for us here and now? It should call forth gratitude from us. Gratitude that we have been given the gift of faith to believe that Jesus is alive. In addition, it should lead us to exclaim every time we encounter the risen Lord Jesus, “My Lord and my God.”
Yes, we have not seen the Lord in his human body but we believe that he is alive, hence our celebration of Easter and our being among those who are blessed.
