Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Today, and every Second in Lent, we are given an account of the Transfiguration of Jesus. This event, we are told, took place while Jesus was at prayer on a high mountain with three of his disciples. While at prayer, his body and his very clothes glowed with the glory of God.
Lent is a time for prayer, fasting and charity. It’s the time when we are being invited by the Church to enter into deep prayer – to take time out and converse with our God. This is a time when we are called upon to focus on God through prayer. Why? As we pray and listen to God our whole being will be permeated with his Grace to the point that He can say to others: “This is my son/my daughter the Chosen One, listen to him/her.”
Remember, prayer is conversation with a loving Father; it’s the lifting up of the heart and mind to God. Let this be a season of prayer, a time of our transfiguration.
