Greetings from one who is trying his best to be a patient, patient. Thanks be to God, your prayers and cares and those of many others, are helping me mend.. I had to have emergency surgery on Friday 24th August. for a hernia which I had neglected for far too long. Thank God, the medical team was exceptional so that I only spent one night in Bayview Hospital. Of course, I miss you all very much but I comfort myself in knowing that all of you are praying for me. Thanks so much. You are contributing to my spiritual healing as well.
In today’s Gospel, St. Mark tells us that “he, (Jesus) called the people to him again and said ‘listen to me and understand...” Yes, we are to listen to Jesus, i.e we are to pay close attention to what he is saying. But that’s not enough though. We are to listen and understand. It’s not that we don’t listen. We probably do, but do we understand? Did you listen to Jesus in the Gospel today?
This month of September, Bible Month, please promise to read the Bible weekly as a family when possible and make an effort to understand and listen to what it is saying.
May God bless you.
Fr. Clement Paul
Parish Priest.
